[Walpurgis Night Festival]

Chloe: Heeey, Master Sage!

Akira: Hm? That's Chloe's voice...

Huh?! Owen?

Owen: What. Don't you think it's rude to stare so hard your eyes practically pop out of your skull? Here, I'll gouge them out for you.

Akira: I-I'm sorry. I was just a little surprised to see you two together. So you were with Chloe?

Chloe: Yup. He invited me while I was looking at the sparking candy, and we've been walking together ever since.

Akira: By sparking candy, you mean that crackling candy-apple-like stuff? So you can actually eat it? I thought it had fireworks inside or something.

Owen: Fireworks wouldn't be very tasty. Though I like the sickening sweetness of the blood dripping from this dessert that looks like a freshly-gouged heart .

Chloe: Hey, do wanna walk around with us, Master Sage? We're here together anyway, right? Come on!

Akira: I don't mind, but...

...Chloe, you seem kind of tense. You're not being bullied, are you?

Chloe: No, but... I'm still on edge...

I haven't talked with Owen that often, you know. He seems kinda scary and it makes me nervous... But if he asks me to go with him, I can't just refuse~!

Akira: Right, it would be hard to say no in that situation...

Owen: ~♪ (munching)

Akira: (Oh? But he seems to be in a good mood. Maybe it's because he has candy?)

Did something good happen, Owen?

Owen: Yup. I found a guy screaming and crying at a shady stall in a back alley. He lost everything in a bet with the owner.

He was acting like the world ended or something. It was such a laugh.

Akira: Ah...

Owen: Did you wanna see it too, Sage?

Akira: No, I'm fine... But thanks for warning me about the danger. I'll try to stay away from the back alleys.

Owen: Hmph. Boring.

Chloe: ...Ngh...

Owen: ...And? What are you up to, Chloe? You won't meet my eyes.

Chloe: Huh?! Well, uh...

Owen: I'm sad that you're so scared of me... I just wanted to be friends.

Chloe: Oh no, what if he got mad because I'm scared of him...?

Akira: No, it didn't feel like that was the case. Maybe he got lost in the crowd...?

Chloe: Huh?! That's bad! We gotta find him!

Chloe: Oh no, we can't find him anywhere...

Akira: Owen stands out, but it still might be hard to find him in this crowd...

Chloe: ...It has to be my fault. I was rude to him. I have to go apologize.

Akira: It'll be fine, Chloe! Hey, how about we take a little break? There's a drink stall right over there.

Chloe: Okay, let's. Thanks, Master Sage.

...Ah.

Akira: What's up?

Stall Owner: Welcome. Have a look at our wares.

Akira: (This stall... sells antiques?)

Chloe: ...Hey, Master Sage. Can we take a look at this one?

Akira: Of course. Did you find something you want?

Chloe: Yeah. So, listen to this...

[Chloe explains]

Chloe: ...And that's the plan. What do you think?

Akira: I think it's great! He'll be so happy.

Stall Owner: Hey, you two. I've seen you both running around everywhere. Do you like running on the ground?

Akira: I'm sorry, too. I didn't realize it earlier. ...But still, this wizard festival is amazing. There are even little boats with stalls in them floating in the sky.

Chloe: It's neat that they made the boats fly. Almost feels like you could mistake the sky for the lake.

Stall Wizard: Oh, look who it is—the Sage!

Akira: Huh?

Stall Wizard: Master Sage, welcome to our world—to the wizards' feast, Walpurgis Night!

Let us celebrate our meeting on this wonderful night! Everyone, raise your glasses!

Chloe: Everyone's totally wasted.

Akira: I imagined wizards could hold their alcohol, but you also get drunk and have fun too, huh.

Chloe: I mean, a lot of the wizards at the manor can hold their alcohol, but we can still get intoxicated—on drink, on the atmosphere, on music.

Stall Wizard: Here, Master Sage! Have a glass!

Chloe: Ahaha. If we stick around here, you might not get out. Let's go up higher. Hold on!

Akira: A-Ah... We're so high up. The boats are all below us now.

Chloe: ...Owen! Oh thank goodness, there you are!

Owen: ...You need something?

Chloe: I was looking for you. I wanna apologize...!

Owen: Huh?

Chloe: Uh? Didn't I make you feel bad by being rude to you...?

I thought you got mad and went off somewhere.

Owen: Not really. You can do whatever you want, I don't care. I was just bored because the conversation was dragging.

Chloe: Wait, really...? You just got bored?

Owen: Is that bad?

Chloe: N-No, not at all! Goodness, well, as long as you're not mad...!

Chloe: Ah, wait! I have something for you. Please take it.

Owen: ...What's this?

Chloe: A chess piece in the shape of a wolf. I've never seen one like it before.

One time when I was out traveling with Rustica, I heard wolves howling in the distance. It kinda reminds me of you.

It's not an apology gift or anything, I just saw this at a stall and really wanted to get it for you.
