Chloe: Ah, Leno! A competition's about to start, so the participants are gathering together.

There's this firm, round fruit called the "Stripy Fruit" [1] that only grows on this island. People compete with each other by splitting it open with a stick.

The one who cracks open the biggest fruit is the winner, and they'll receive a special red crystal that can be found on this island.

I want to make something using that crystal as a memento of our trip...

Lennox: I see. That's why you decided to join the competition.

Chloe: It might be a little difficult for me, but I'll do the best I can.

Lennox: Maybe I'll give it a try, too.

Chloe: Yeah! Let's enter together. You're pretty strong, Leno, so you might have a shot at the grand prize.



Chloe: Okay, let's go... Hah!

Ngh... I can only crack open the small ones...

Chloe: Ooh...! It's a passionate red—such a beautiful color. Congrats, Leno!

Lennox: Thanks. I'd like you to have it, Chloe.

Chloe: Huh?! But, I...

Lennox: I was planning on giving it to you from the start. Besides, I wouldn't know what to do with it. I think the crystal would be happier in your hands.

Chloe: ...Ah, I got it!

[1] Sadly it gets lost in English, but "stripy" = 縞々 (shimashima) which could be a pun on "island" (島, shima). The fruit-smashing activity Chloe is talking about is similar to suikawari, so Stripy Fruit is most likely supposed to look vaguely like a watermelon.
